Zine-Making Workshops

These workshops took place across five libraries In January 2024.

 

During the workshops, participants were encoured to use the libraries resources such as scanners and printers, to make their own zines.

 

Zines (short for fanzines or magazines) are independently-produced publications which often have a DIY (do-it-yourself) aesthetic and cover a wide range of topics, including art, politics, music, and personal experiences. An accessible artform, they are often created as a way for people to share their perspectives and experiences, and as a way to express themselves and connect with others who have similar interests.

 

A final 'mega' zine (Zine as a Library/Libray as a Zine) was created with contributions from all participants and the library staff. Copies specially printed for Merton Libraries are available to borrow.
