Wimbledon Library are excited to host this children's event by Chris Allen, the author of Hergal the Homeless Crab and the Tom's Ice Cream Van series of books.
This enchanting tale follows Hergal, the 10-legged hermit crab with big eyes and an even bigger heart, as he embarks on an extoraodinary journey on the tropical island of Spark.
In a world where beautiful shells are hard to find, Hergal learns the true meaning of non-attachment and friendship.
When humans take the precious shells that Hergal and his friends need for homes, the struggle for survival begins. As he outgrows his shell and faces bullies, Hergal must confront his fears and insecurities. STEM Sport Science Workshops are workshops, activities, and programmes that use the power of sport to engage and introduce young people to learning how science and technology are used to measure their fitness in sport and health by providing insight and learning how the science is applied in practice and how this relates to STEM learnt in school and higher education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths).
The workshops have been developed by Academy Conditioning, which uses sports science and technology to measure and assess physical fitness and movement to help aspiring football players and athletes move and perform better in sport and health and utilises this to educate and help young people improve their physical fitness and movement for sport and general health.
Through our mobile sports science fitness lab, we provide interactive learning and insight into how science is connected to sport and fitness.
