Last Words @ Morden Library

"LAST WORDS" ''Either this wallpaper goes, or I do." A collaborative performance and experience celebrating the last words of the dead library books in Morden Library, led by artist Katherine Smith. During the first 15 minutes of the session, we will read out the last words in different ways, creating an embodied, rhythmic ritual together to celebrate their lives. Following the performance, we will create poetry and other forms of writing using the last words, accompanied by tea and snacks. Please note, the performance will be audio recorded and a short section of it will be put together with recordings of other dead book performances over the course of 2025-2026, to be shared publicly to celebrate dead books more widely.
