Description:
Purpose: to run a free introductory course in bookkeeping and accounting classes aimed at the:
-Unemployed
-Persons considering career changes
-As a refresher for persons with some bookkeeping background
-Anyone contemplating studies or to qualify as a self employed bookkeeper
Knowledge to be gained:
- Participants gain a basic knowledge of bookkeeping
- General introduction to running a business, including
different types of business
- Introduction to tax for businesses
- Business owners reporting obligations - Directors obligations,
Companies House, HMRC, AML & Ethics
Objective:
- Encourage individuals to choose a career in bookkeeping and accounting.
For the unemployed thinking of joining the job market
- Thinking of running your own bookkeeping service or business
- Provide a basis for future studies
Prerequisite:
- No previous qualifications required.
Aim:
- Content follows the Association of Accounting Technicians
programme Introduction & AAT level 1
- Advise participants on potential career paths.
Requirements:
To get a full appreciation of the course it is desirable that participants attend all 3 sessions.
However we should not dissuade anyone from attending.
Each session will be designed to meet its own learning objectives, however knowledge from a prior session will help understand and follow subsequent sessions.
