An evening with David Gedge from The Wedding Present - Author event and acoustic performance

We are delighted to be welcoming to the Merton Arts Space at Wimbledon Library the incredibly talented David Gedge, leader and founder of The Wedding Present, one of Britain’s most successful and influential indie bands. The event will celebrate the release of the first two volumes in David’s unique ‘memoir-in-comic-book-form’ books that tell the story of his upbringing and the beginning of the Wedding Present. This innovative style of memoir has gained considerable critical praise and David will be giving an insight into their making and talking all things Wedding Present. The author talk will be followed by a live acoustic performance by The Wedding Present and will be supported by local band Azzures. This is a unique opportunity to spend an evening in the company of one of Britain’s most influential bands in the heart of Merton. Tickets are free and are expected to be in high demand. If you attend the author event you will get exclusive entrance to the music performance afterwards.
