Capoeira with Arte Pura

Capoeira workshops took place in all of Merton's seven Libraries between October and November 2023 bringing the experience of the popular Afro-Brazilian martial art which combines dance, acrobatics, music, games and the Brazilian portuguese language and culture.

 

Arte Pura is a Merton-based organisation providing Capoeira classes and workshops for everyone.

 

They have also just published their first bilingual book ‘My first Capoeira class’ in English and Portuguese which they describe as an interactive introduction to the fundamentals of Capoeira.
