IT Support Volunteer - Connecting Merton Project

We are looking for IT Support volunteers to get involved in our Connecting Merton Project which aims to support vulnerable residents in Merton and help them feel confident in the digital world either at the library, remotely or at their homes.

At the moment and due to current circumstances, volunteers will only be able to provide support on the phone and remotely.

Sensory Library Volunteers

Our seven libraries will be having sensory themed areas for all children, with additional services being provided for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) children. We are looking for volunteers to help run our new storytimes and activity sessions in our sensory libraries.

Event Facilitator Volunteer - Reading Friends Project

We are looking for event facilitator volunteers to get involved in our Reading Friends Project. Reading Friends is a UK-wide programme from The Reading Agency which aims to tackle loneliness by bringing people together to read, chat and share stories.

What can I gain from volunteering?

You will have the chance to meet and help people from the local community, creating a sense of achievement. In volunteering you will build experience and develop your skills to enhance a college, university or job application.

What support will I be given?

You will receive a full induction to the Service, and ongoing training and guidance. We will reimburse any expenses for lunch (if volunteering more than 4 hours in one day) and travel.
