The Reading Retreat Volunteer

The Reading Retreat is an exciting new shared reading project in Croydon, Kingston, Merton and Sutton libraries where small groups will read aloud from a book, short story or poem. We're seeking confident volunteers with good listening and a familiarity with computers to lead discussions, providing a great way for people to connect; to what they’re reading, to themselves and to each other.

This volunteer role is perfect for anyone seeking to increase their scope in public speaking , leadership and literature , or just looking to break up the norm and meet new people . To undertake the role of Reader Leader, you will be required to take part in a one hour information session, followed by six half-day training sessions over six weeks.
