<p>Merton libraries offer a variety of electronic resources which are available on computers or any device with Internet access.&nbsp;</p>

<p>All our resources are available from the libraries and from home except Ancestry UK and Access to Research which can only be accessed via a library computer.&nbsp;You will need your library card number and PIN to access any of these resources.</p>

<p>Merton Heritage and Local Studies Centre tells the story of Merton and its people through a changing programme of exhibitions and events. The centre also offers educational services for local schools and adult learners as well as access to a wide range of local history resources.</p>

<h3><strong>01/03/2024 Merton libraries app update</strong></h3>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Our library app is back! We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the period it was unavailable, owing to factors outside our control. Thank you for your patience during this time.<br />If you still have the app installed, you should be able to log in using your card number and PIN. If for any reason this doesn't work, you may have to uninstall and reinstall the app.&nbsp;</p>

<div dir="auto"><strong>08/11/2023 Extended opening hours at Mitcham library</strong></div>

<p>Mitcham library will be piloting new door access technology that will eventually enable the library to open for even longer hours.</p>
<p>As part of the pilot, from Monday 11 November, we will be trialling some alternative hours. Customers will be required to enter the building using their library card or library app and PIN Mondays to Fridays from 9-9.30am.</p>

<h1>Merton Memories</h1>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Merton Memories Project allows the public unprecedented access to a unique collection of historic photographs showing Merton from 1869 to the present day. Staff and local volunteers have scanned and catalogued over 15,000 images, which are now available via the <a href="http://photoarchive.merton.gov.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Merton Memories website.</a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Visitors can not only browse the photographic collection by subject, location and a range of advanced search options; it is also possible to order photographic prints and send enquiries. The website also provides details of heritage events and links to local museums and societies.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Heritage volunteers are continuing to research the images and add further historical information as part of ongoing project work. If you have information on any of the images in our collection, or have Merton images that you would like to add to the website, we would love to hear from you.
