Fees and charges

It is free to join Merton libraries with membership giving you access to books, reference material, events and a range of other services at no cost. There are charges for some services and fines for items that are overdue. See our current fees and charges leaflet.


You may borrow up to 20 books for up to three weeks for free. Talking books cost £1.50. Language courses costs £1.50 and £10 for 3 and 12 week loans respectively. An overdue charge of 27p per day is applied to all books issued to an adult member and 7p per day to books issued to children and teenagers under 18 using an appropriate membership card.


DVD rental prices range from 50p to £2.50 for two nights. DVD box sets cost £5 for a 3 week loan. The full rental charge is applied to all overdue DVDs.  

Reservation charges (Applies to all aged 18 years and over)

Standard reservation charge: £1.30 or 60p if opting for notification by email.

Computers, Internet access and printing

Access to the computers including the Internet is free. A4 black and white and A4 colour printing costs 15p and 50p per sheet, A3 black and white and A3 colour printing costs 30p and £1.00 per sheet respectively.


A4 black and white 10p each; A4 colour 50p each; A3 black and white 20p each; A3 colour £1.00 each.

Lost items

Replacement membership card- £3.00

Replacement stock- cost of replacement and 10% administrative charge

Room hire

Pollards Hill Library IT suite, Raynes Park Library hall and Wimbledon Library activity area £23 per hour; £33 out of hours (minimum of two hours booking); £43 per hour on Sundays.

The projector and microphone system can be hired out for £15 each per session. A 20% concession is applied to bookings for voluntary groups, resident associations and statutory bodies.



£10 per week for displaying A3 posters and £7 per week for displaying A4/5 leaflets.
